Annabel Tennis up-date
Annabel Chapman spent most of January at tournaments in the South Island. She started at the Wanaka Junior Open finishing runner up in the 14s Singles and doubles (they had to withdraw from the doubles finals when her partner got injured sadly). Then onto the Queenstown Junior Open where Annabel won the 16s singles and finished runner up in the doubles.
Christchurch was next up for the Canterbury Tier 3 where she finished 3rd in the 16s singles and then won the 16s doubles. After a break at home we then went back to Christchurch for the Tier 2 event where she again finished 3rd in the 14s singles and then won the doubles.
The final tournament of the school holidays was the Tier 2 Auckland Championships where she again finished runner up in the singles.
Annabel was chosen to represent Waikato Bays at the Nationals in April but this is now postponed till October due to Covid. Hopefully the National Secondary Schools Championships will go ahead in March.
She is due to play interclub for both Cambridge and Bucklands Beach, Auckland this term
