President’s Welcome
Cambridge Racquets Club has a long and rich history being established in 1888 and with your participation and enjoyment of the facilities it will continue to do so for ever and ever.
The club is regarded as the best all round racquet facility in the Waikato with the combination of 7 tennis courts and 4 squash courts. There is a strong squash membership and we are currently fielding 14 interclub teams during the Winter season.
The tennis facilities are first class with 4 in Astro turf and 3 in plexipave (hard court) with lights for all 7 courts which enables play in the evening.
This Tennis Festival has been modeled on a very successful tennis tournament being run in England. Starting from an inaugural tournament,this event in England has grown to one of the largest tournaments organised for non professional tennis players. The focus is on participation and also family involvement.
The original event in England was attended by Ian Bishop for 10 years, who is now the Coach at Cambridge Racquets Club. With the same structure as the English event, This will become the largest family tennis festival in New Zealand.
We welcome you and your family to Cambridge on the 6th and 7th March 2010, to enjoy the hospitality we have to offer and after the many battles on court, we hope you will have fond memories and be coming back in 2011.
